My journey during The Mastering in Service Design, was investigating about EV cars and how this improves the life of millions of people across methodologies that can help us to improve the service by identifying the right strategies for our target. We used journey maps, future wheels, JTBD canvas, among others.
Polestar Assignment
The assigned problem
In this request the problem was to how get more people go into sustainability through EV cars. The requirements were not to make improvements to the car itself, but create a plan to motivate people to prefer sustainable products.
User persona
Biohacker Persona
A Biohacker is someone who meticulously tracks health metrics such as food, exercise, sleep levels, always seeking to optimize performance in life and work
Storyboard
The person is welcomed and consent is required for data collection
They are told right away that the app can suggest options to optimize trips and personal well-being
Person can choose from alternative means of heading towards their destination
The app shows detailed steps of what exactly they have to do, so Person doesn’t have to think and plan
Even outside of the car, the app will detect that and guide the person when in other situations
Person is encouraged and shown personal preferred metrics: calories, carbon offset, PM2.5 etc.
The app also recommends future plans and events, with multiple green travel options promoted
The app
This app will help the users that are willing to change or modify their daily behaviour, giving different options to get from point A to point B after the app tracks and use some data from your week, exploring areas such as calories, steps, km, among others. So when the app identifies for example you are going to work, this will offer you different routes.
Exiting plans
This routes are specifically to minimize your carbon print during your day, helping the user make other decisions considering the sustainability and the “real world” as a factor. Is not going to be a crazy plan to go walking from home to work, knowing there are 14km, but having a reference of distance in which the app can offer to use public transportation for example, or bike, in which the app will take care of all the reservations.
App as a secondary use
Considering that this app will be used during certain activities, it is most likely to be a secondary app. This means, that everything can be happening in the notification centre, you can accept the route, or simply cancel it, but all the instructions and reservations will be shown in your notification screen. One of the goal with this project was having an app that can help you get results, good decisions and also congratulate you for making changes that benefit the user and also benefit the world, getting rewards after every use.
